In the winter months there are 2 star essential oils: tea tree essential oil (EO) and ravintsara essential oil.
Tea tree EO is antibacterial, Ravintsara EO is antiviral
Tea tree essential oilIt has strong antibacterial properties mainly thanks to a specific molecule (terpinen-4-ol). This EO (which is well tolerated by the entire family) inhibits the growth of a wide range of species bacteria : Studies have proven its effectiveness Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus et Cutibacterium acnes. In winter it is particularly indicated for sore throats, tonsillitis, colds, etc bronchitis.
Ravintsara essential oilIt is therefore considered one of the most powerful natural antivirals: according to several studies, it mainly inhibits the replication of the virus (thanks to two molecules, α-terpineol and 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol)). Its effectiveness has been proven on the viruses responsible flu and gastroenteritis. Like tea tree oil, Ravintsara oil has few contraindications.
