Woman by the Sea: Which Homemade After-Sun Treatment?

Make your own this summer homemade after-sun care. Here are some simple recipes be implemented. You can easily find the ingredients in health food stores and/or pharmacies.

The most important ingredients

Real lavender essential oil (HE) often used for its soothing, healing, anti-inflammatory, dermatological and regenerating properties of skin tissue. It is generally tolerated by all skin types and is suitable for both adults and children. It also protects against mosquito bites. For pregnant or breastfeeding women, we recommend seeking the advice of a doctor. The same applies to children under 3 years old. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

Sweet almond oil used for its moisturizing, softening and soothing properties. Very soft, can be used by anyone. It is ideal for dry and sensitive skin.

For a homemade after-sun treatment, You can also use Wheat germ oil. It is known to promote the regeneration of skin tissue, as well as softening and soothing the skin.

St. John’s wort maceration oil has soothing properties and supports the skin; it has skin regenerating properties. It has decongestant and anti-inflammatory properties. However, be careful not to expose yourself to the sun again after application as this will happen sensitive to light.

Lavender/almond association

This bandage is characterized by its calming properties.

Ingredients :

  • 20 drops of real lavender essential oil
  • 50 ml sweet almond vegetable oil

Moisturizing and soothing after-sun cream

Shea butter, coconut butter and aloe vera gel should also be used.

Ingredients for 50 ml cream :

  • 20 g organic shea butter
  • 10 ml aloe vera gel
  • 4g coconut beurre
  • 4 drops of vitamin E
  • 20 drops of fine lavender essential oil
  • 10 ml organic sweet almond vegetable oil

1 – Melt shea butter in a water bath.

2 – Add coconut butter, melt.

3 – Let the butter cool and add the aloe vera gel and vitamin E. Mix carefully.

4 – Add the oils (lavender and almond oil) and mix.

5 – Allow the mixture to cool and solidify away from heat and light.

Refreshing verbena mist

This homemade after-sun treatment contains plenty of verbena.

Ingredients :

  • 100 ml organic verbena hydrosol
  • 30 drops of exotic verbena essential oil
  • 120 drops of Solubol (allows essential oils to be diluted in water (4 times the volume of EO))
  • 20 drops of grapefruit seed extract
  • 7 drops of vitamin E

1 – Pour the verbena hydrosol into a bottle.

2 – Mix the verbena essential oil with the solubol in a bowl. Pour this mixture into the bottle with the hydrosol.

3 – Add grapefruit seed extract and vitamin E.

4 – Shake the bottle vigorously to achieve an even mixture.

Soothing after-sun oil

It helps soothe the skin and relieve inflammation.

Ingredients :

  • 75 ml wheat germ vegetable oil
  • 25 ml St. John’s wort maceration oil
  • 60 drops of real lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops of vitamin E

1 – Mix the two vegetable oils.

2 – Add the essential oil and mix.

3 – Finally add the vitamin E and mix well again.

Quick “sunburn” recipe

This homemade after-sun treatment is easy and quick to make and requires two ingredients.

Ingredients :

Maceration oil from St. John’s wort to which you add 2 drops of HECT essential oil from fine chamomile (or real lavender).

Apply to the area to be treated.
